Unrest in Ivory Coast in recent days getting worried. The conflict triggered a power struggle and has killed hundreds of people and thousands more injured.
If it still continues, unrest in the western African country is feared to lead to civil war, which will also involve several neighboring countries, like Angola and Liberia.
According to news agency Associated Press (AP), bloody riots were linked to the 28 November general election, when President Laurent Gbagbo was defeated by his rival, Alassane Outtara. However, Gbagbo refused to resign and instead to use military force to maintain power.
Meanwhile, Outtara formed a rival government in a local hotel which was guarded by UN troops and former rebels from the northern army. UN and other countries take sides Outtara and acknowledge his victory as Ivory Coast's president-elect.
Elected Prime Minister, Guillaume Soro, urged the United Nations, the European Union and the African Union and other countries to intervene to overthrow Gbagbo.
